Tamara Levitt joins hosts Liza Fromer, Dave Gerry, Kris Reyes, and Rosey Edeh on The Morning Show to discuss the message of her book, and why parents need to be offering children the room to fail in our achievement oriented world.
Tamara discusses her upcoming book Happiness Doesn’t Come from Headstands. She notes that children are learning to equate their self-worth with achievement and developing a deep fear of failure (and even trying). So it’s more important than ever before to empower children by teaching them that failure is okay, through enhancing their self-acceptance and self-compassion. By learning how to accept and grow from failure, children will be better equipped to achieve the success and happiness we so want for them in the first place.
